Since I just moved from Las Vegas, it might be important to add that I missed growing things: from food to flowers. Thankfully, my mom has the food department covered! Our garden is huge, and hopefully will be filled with delicious food!
But ever since I was a kid, I wanted to have a garden that isn't for a purpose other than making people happy. And so I decided to grow a flower garden. We had an overgrown roundabout thing in our driveway. Small trees had begun to grow from the seeds of nearby trees, and there were just too many of them in a small area to look nice and to grow healthily. So I had to chop some down. We had 5 LARGE juniper bushes that were overgrown, and taking over everything!!! I had my brother chop down 2, and in the fall (we had chainsaw issues) we will get rid of 1 more, and prune the other two waaay back. I have bulbs and seeds planted all over, and there are lots of roses, lilies, and several other ground covers that are growing wild.
My 7 year old brother and I built planter stands, staked them into the ground so they don't fall over in the strong wind, and now they have pots of flowers.
I have some wild flowers and bee-balm, and other lilies growing in the green house for planting next week. And I had the children help me gather rocks for a pathway, and all in all, the garden is looking beautiful. It still has a lot of work to be done, but it has come leaps and bounds!!
Here's some pictures of the garden, some close up of the flowers, and just a chance to share some of it's beauty.
Remember, it's main purpose is to make people happy!

Day of the Resurrection!!
Happy Easter everyone!
Great news!! I finally got my camera to work, so I was able to take a lot of pictures of the party we had! We had a BBQ, and had a bunch of friends over. Coordinated a scavenger hunt (thank you Lund kids for last year!!). This year I had some friends to help me plan! The clues were a mixture of Bible verses, song lyrics, and movie quotes! Parents, bigs kids, and little kids all had their own clues, and bags of goodies!
Here are some of my favorite pictures! Enjoy!!!!
Hope you enjoyed the pictures! Next post will be about my endevours on extracting fragrance from flowers and how my garden is pulling together!
